Tourist Tax in Greece
In Greece, a tourist tax* applies to accommodation. The amount of the tax** depends on the category of the hotel where tourists stay.
The tourist tax applicable from 01.01.2025:
April – October:
November – March:
For accommodation facilities classified as Keys-2, Keys-3, Keys-4 (classification used for apartments), the fee* is €1.5 per booking/per night**.
The tourist tax for accommodation is paid by tourists on site at the hotel/apartment reception upon check-in.

**The amount of the tourist tax may change at the time of check-in at the hotel.
Deposits at Hotels in Greece.
Please note that in some hotels a deposit may be charged, which is paid directly by the tourist at the hotel in the country of stay.
Upon check-out, the deposit amount or its remaining balance, after deducting any used expenses, will be refunded. The hotel reserves the right to request an additional deposit if the initial amount is insufficient.
ALIA PALACE 5* (Chalkidiki): Upon arrival, a deposit of €200 is charged (paid directly by the tourist in the country of stay). Payment can be made in cash or by card. The deposit covers expenses incurred at the hotel (which are not included in the accommodation concept and must be paid additionally by the tourist) or any other costs (e.g., room damage). The paid deposit amount is refunded in full, or depending on expenses, the remaining balance is returned.
INFINITY BLUE BOUTIQUE HOTEL & SPA 4* (Crete): Upon arrival, a deposit of €100 is charged (paid directly by the tourist in the country of stay). This deposit serves as a security measure and will be fully refunded at check-out, provided there are no outstanding payments or property damage.
